Depending on the lens color, our shields also block approximately 92% to 99.9% of UVA rays, with our mirrored lenses offering the highest level of UVA protection (99.0% to 99.9%).

While your Bluestone Sunshield provides UPF 50+ protection and blocks 99% of UV rays, we still recommend wearing sunscreen on exposed areas of skin for full coverage. The shield is an excellent physical barrier, pairing with sunscreen ensures you're protected from reflected and indirect UV rays as well.
All Bluestone Sunshields provide UPF 50+ protection and block 99.95% of UVB rays. However, the addition of tint and color finishes enhances UVA protection, offering an extra layer of defense against sun exposure.
If you're looking for the highest level of sun protection, we recommend choosing any of our colored shields, followed by the black, and then the clear.
Bluestone Sunshields are designed primarily for adults, but many older children and teenagers are able to wear them comfortably depending on their head size and fit preferences.

Your shield helps protect much of your face from direct UV exposure, but we still recommend applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen to any exposed skin, including your neck, ears, chest, and hands. Combining physical protection with sunscreen offers the most comprehensive defense against sun damage.
